Arc Welding also known as manual metal arc (MMA) welding, is a manual process that uses a consumable electrode coated in flux to lay the weld. An electric current, from a welding power supply, is used to form an electric arc between the electrode and the metals to be joined. This is a versatile process which has been adapted to the rail industry. Instead of replacing worn rail, it is instead arc welded back to its original state, saving the client time and money.
